The concept that we must accomplish alone is outdated. The relief of having a high integrity, confidential sounding board, caring force and bright mind on your side is valuable. Learn more about me in my brief bio below.

I grew up in a small town in the Midwest with a modest-income family. Like most people, I grew up with a plan on how to have a successful life. Education, career, relationship, etc. When I completed my checklist, I was faced with a choice. Either build another checklist or start living like I didn’t have one. I chose the latter and wow! What a difference in the quality and quantity of rewarding experiences that quickly filled my life.

I don’t need much and rarely focus my energy on possessions. This leaves plenty of room for all the experiences life has to offer. Like most people, I was scared to jump into all these opportunities I was offered. It took self-reflection to realize that I was lacking leadership. Leadership over myself, my life and my future. And it did not mean another checklist. It meant nurturing courage, integrity, honest communication, positivity, and above all – belief in myself and knowing what takes priority in my life. All of these elements lead up to one inherent capability – leadership.

Twenty years into my retirement, I was presented with an opportunity that I knew could prove to be life-changing. But when I discussed my plan with a few close friends and family members, they all threw cold water over it. “What would people say?” So, I did nothing for almost a year. Still, the opportunity lay open, challenging and bothering me. That’s when I met with Keats Coaching. I felt completely at ease with her and told her everything about the situation, especially about my feelings and inner instincts. Keats’s willingness just to listen, plus her probing questions, very quickly allowed me to see everything in a new, clear light. I reversed my earlier decision. Looking back now after another year, I’m happy and grateful to say (with Robert Frost), “And that has made all the difference.”
